Call Abroad with Voxofon

Voxofon Call Abroad is the only dedicated application that offers high quality international calls at a very low cost from your Windows Phone 7.

The Voxofon Call Abroad application not only allows calling abroad, but it lets you call VoIP destinations as well (such as Skype, Gtalk, SIP and others). It works anywhere you have cellular coverage and does not require a Wi-Fi connection.

How to Call Abroad?

  1. Tap on Voxofon Call Abroad app.
  2. Enter the international destination phone number including country code or select it from your phone Contacts.
  3. Voxofon will display the destination name and the low international calling rate so you always know exactly what you will be paying.
  4. Tap on ‘call’ button. A window will pop-up, displaying the Voxofon local access number that the application will call – not your international destination.
  5. Tap ‘call’ one more time to call abroad via our local access number.

You can also tap ‘sms’ button to send an SMS text message.

What Does it Cost to Call Abroad with Voxofon?

When you make a call abroad, you will pay your operator for a call to a local access number or for receiving a call if you are using the callback functionality. The app will only use 1-2 KB of Internet data to set up the international call.

Your Voxofon account will be charged for the international part of the call (from 1 cent/min). The exact low cost international calling rates provided by Voxofon will always be displayed before your call abroad is placed.

When you complete the set-up process you will receive a $0.50 credit to experience the quality and simplicity of calling abroad with Voxofon.

How to Call Skype with Voxofon Call Abroad?

If your contacts abroad have a Skype account, you can call them for free!

  1. Launch Voxofon Call Abroad app
  2. Click on the first icon on the bottom line of the Voxofon Call Abroad app
  3. Select Skype and enter your recipient’s username as the destination
  4. Tap ‘Call’.

Voxofon Call Abroad app will call the nearest access number to reach our VoIP platform and forward the call to your Skype contact. Please note that this will use your local plan minutes.

When you make a call to Skype using the Voxofon Call Abroad application, the recipient will see “Voxofon” as the caller. You should make sure that your contacts allow calls from the user Voxofon. You should also make sure that you are using the correct username.

Roaming – when You are Abroad

The only way to avoid roaming charges when you travel abroad is to get a local SIM card or use a local phone. Windows Phone 7 does not support WiFi or pure VoIP calls, that is why if you use your mobile to make or receive calls when abroad you might incur in very expensive roaming charges.
